What to do what to do...

James and I are on our own this weekend.
I don't know what we are going to do. Tonight I brought him out shopping for pants (jeans actually) and ended up spoiling the hell out of him...
It started off innocently enough...

We shopped at Burlington Coat Factory for an hour or so and bought 4 pairs of Jeans, 3 shirts, 2 pairs of super soft 2-piece PJ's, 2 books and 1 backpack... Budget = BLOWN...

We went to KFC for chicken and Mac and cheese. The dude who sweeps the floor there made a cool remark when we were leaving... He said, "That is the cleanest kid that I've ever seen leave this place." because James didn't get messy at all.... For once. After that we went to get some "warm coca" mix for a pre-bed snack.

We got to Publix at 9:00 exactly and they were closed. I looked at James and said "I guess Publix closes at 9."
He said "yeah, mom, Plublicks closes at 9".

We hopped back into the car and went to Wal-Mart grocery store because they never close. While there we got pears, celery, carrots, a HUGE bag of cheese cubes, banannas and finally the "warm coca" mix. When we got to the register James handed up the big bag of cheese and said to the clerk, "Plublicks closes at 9." It was cool...

Once at home we busted out the mini marshmallows and put the water on to boil. We raced to get into our PJ's and back to the kitchen to make our coca "Warm" style, (add cold milk). We busted up a bananna and put a handful of cheese cubes in a bowl. We munched and drank while watching the movie ANNIE. It was cool.

I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer.


I work at Home Depot and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot.


From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in.

We went to hang out while Dad and his crew cooked and do our "2nd annual bounce-a-thon".
James had so much fun last year that I just knew that we'd spend the whole day jumping and I'd spend the whole day passing SEA BUCKS to some teenager.

As luck would have it this year James was distracted in our back yard and we didn't leave here until well after noon. It takes about 45 minutes to get there and was about 38 or so miles away. I have to admit that I really wasn't paying attention to the actual mileage. I just wanted to get there before closing time...

We played some fun kid games and were offered prizes. We built a Home Depot kids sailboat kit and James got his own smock, which he refused to wear... (now he actually has 3 from this weekend alone!)
Needless to say, in the interest of leading by example, I wore it.
Well actually, I wore it for the rest of the afternoon...

With all of the wind the smock ended up blowing behind me so I dubbed it my "SUPER MOM" cape.

Maybe next time I won't be feeling camera shy...

He had a hell of a time going between the bounce house and the bounce slide... I may be calling those people the next time I need an hour (or six) of freedom...

We stayed until after the event was over and helped the crew pack up. James was a big help and enjoyed pulling pipes to the trailer for packing. He also spent some time amusing himself by making patterns in the sand. He is really REALLY into patterns, and erasing them, and making new ones...

On the ride home he said "That was fun mom". He was right, it was.

On a side note
James is staying awake more often on car rides, COOL!!!
Now I can point and yell, "Cow", and not feel like a dummy afterward...

We're off to the Seafood festival...

Kid and I are off to the Ruskin Seafood festival to visit dad and go bounce house hopping... check back later for an update and pictures!

Hello, what a nice way to start a momversation...

My name is EJ and I live in the Tampa Bay area. I work 40+ hour a week job (on a middle shift), raise a three year old, love a Man, infrequently pat my dog and occasionally get to enjoy limited interpersonal contact with adults of the same age with the same life issues as I.
There is a bit too much for me to think about on starting my first "real" blog so I'm going to have to do a bit of brainstorming as to which direction I really want this thing to take.
I love to write and tend to be very long winded, so please bear with me.
